Hurricane Katrina was one of the most worst Hurricanes in U.S history. Early Morning on August 29th 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf coast of the United States. It had a category 3 rating on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale- it brought sustained winds of 100-140 miles. Although the storm itself did a lot of damage, the aftermath was catasrophic. The breaching of the levee's caused heavy and massive flooding. Many people critisized the federal government because they were slow at meeting the needs of the people affected by the storm. The storm affected many lives and caused a lot of damage.
