Titanic was thought to be an unsinkable ship. It could carry up to 3300 people. The ship was 882 feet long and had a height of 104 feet. During the maiden voyage there was 2240 passengers. Of those passengers 1500 died. Titanic was built March 31 1909 it took around 26 months to make and 3,000 men titanic had three million rivets for its hull. The owner of titanic was Joseph Bruce Ismay he was the former owner of the White Star Line and former president of the International Mercantile Marine Co he survived the titanic but died October 17, 1937 of a stroke at the age of 74.

Titanic left from Southampton on April 10 1912 and was heading west to New York. Titanic hired captain Edward Smith who was known as the millionaire captain and titanic was supposed to be his last time being a captain. Titanic sunk at 2:20 a.m. on April 15, 1912 it was 400 miles south of Newfoundland, Canada. The titanic hit the iceberg right before midnight of April 14, five of Titanic’s compartments were ruptured along its starboard side.
