What was the Titanic?
The titanic was a believed unsinkable ship that hit a iceberg on April 15 1912 at 2:20 am. The owner of such ship was Joseph Bruce ismay. So he had about half of the lifeboats that he was supposed to have because he thought that it made the ship look cluttered and unproffesional.
There were 2,208 people on the boat. In total there were about 1,503 people who died. There were 20 lifeboats which can hold up to 1,178 people. The titanic could hold up 3,327 passengers and crew. Even though there were 2,208 people on the ship. How it sunk was that it hit an iceberg and it sunk in the atlantic ocean. It began its voyage at south hampton whil its destination was New York City. It sunk 4 days into its maiden voyage.
It took 2 and a half hours for the titanic to sink. The tickets ranged anywhere from 150 to 4,350 which is 1,700 to 50,000 in today’s money Second class tickets were 60 dollars for each ticket 700 dollars in today’s money. Third class tickets were anywhere from 15 to 40 dollars 170 to 460 dollars in today’s money. Edward John Smith was the titanic's captain. On April 8th 1912 leaves Belfast Ireland to south Hampton to get its passengers and crew.
