The RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that was 882 feet and 9 inches long and 175 feet tall, the Titanic was thought to be an “unsinkable ship”, she was owned by the White Star Line. The Titanic was also considered one of the biggest ships of her time. She set sail on April 10th, 1912 from Southampton to New York, the Titanic hit an iceberg at 11:40 on April 14th, 1912 and she sank at 2:20 on April 15th, 1912. More than 1,500 people died and there was 2,224 on the ship. Her captain was Edward John Smith(millionaires captain), he was one of the best White Star Line captains. This was one of the most famous tragedies in modern history.

On April 14th there were seven iceberg warnings only two of the iceberg warnings reached the captain. At 11:40 the lookout Frederick Fleet spotted an iceberg straight ahead, the iceberg struck the Titanic on the starboard (right) side of her bow. At 12:25 On April 15th the lifeboats began working with children and women only, there were only 28 people on the first lifeboats when it could hold up to 65 people. There were eight distress rockets that were fired the whole night. When the last lifeboat left at 2:05 there were still 1,500 people left on the Titanic, the ship ended up sinking at 2:20. On September 1, 1985 the Titanic was finally discovered on the bottom of the ocean floor.
