Titanic

The titanic was the largest and most important ship of its time. She was created by the company white star lines and designed by the company Harland and Wolff. She made her maiden voyage on April 10th, 1912 and was scheduled to arrive in New York City, April 17 1912. She weighed a 52,310 tons and was 883 feet. Its estimated passenger count was 2,224, but there was only life boats for 1,178. The captain for Titanic’s maiden voyage was Captain Edward John Smith. He was white star lines most seasoned and experienced captain and was called the “millionaire’s Captain”. He was referred to as the “millionaire’s Captain” because millionaire’s trips so that he would be the captain of the ship. On 14 April, four days into the crossing she hit an iceberg at 11:40 p.m. She skid the side of the iceberg where it created large gash into the hull between 220 to 245 foot long. Causing the titanic to sink in under 3 hours. About 1500 people died and 700 survived.
